This chapel is only accessible through a series of winding hallways in the massive OSF (Order of Saint Francis) Hospital complex in Peoria, Illinois. The external doors are locked.
It’s hard to find specific information about when this chapel was built. According to OSF’s history page at their website, the hospital has been at its current location since 1877, which makes it 140 years old in 2017.
It’s pretty humbling to think of the countless people that have been comforted here over the years.
